Why EIAs matter
Under the Public Sector Equality Duty (Section 149 of the Equality Act 2010), public bodies must show due regard to equality when making decisions. A well-written Equality Impact Assessment is one of the clearest ways to evidence that. A weak one can leave your organisation exposed to challenge, and more importantly, can mean real impacts on people are missed.
Many staff are asked to complete EIAs with little or no training. The result is often a tick-box exercise completed after the decision has already been made. Our training changes that.

- Identifying positive and negative impacts, and realistic mitigations
- Writing clearly for decision makers
- Monitoring and review after the decision
- Practical exercises using real-world (anonymised) examples
