Our training relies on a 'process of learning' approach and uses organisational change elements to fully appreciate what is meant by a Culturally Competent Organisation. We have completely revised the way in which this type of training is planned, facilitated and evaluated, spearheading training across staff levels, and putting a heavy emphasis on change and action planning. This approach has redefined what 'culturally competency' is all about and moves away from the conventional 'multi-cultural awareness' training that had been the norm.

Our trainers have been delivering Cultural Competency Training since 1998. We have consistently received excellent feedback from our in-house training services.  The Diversity Roadshow 2006 is the vehicle through which we aim to bring our training courses to a wider audience.

We are planning to deliver courses on;
12th November in London
14th November in Bristol
19th November in Nottingham
26th November in Manchester

Towards Cultural Competence

Our changing communities need to be reflected in the way we run our organisations.  We can no longer stagnate whilst all around us there is change.

If we want to provide services and work conditions that meet the requirements of people from different communities, we must take into account the needs of different cultural groups.

This course will help you to understand;

  • Why you need to use research based evidence
  • The differences in behaviour of migrating communities
  • How to use demographics to help plan services
  • How to define an ethnic group
  • How to provide services that meet the needs of different ethnic groups
  • What Cultural Competence is
  • Our own potential to discriminate
  • How to develop an action plan that meets both the national agenda
    and local needs
